Our Specialties

General Dentistry is the cornerstone of our practice. Healthy teeth and gums are the most important concerns that we have for our patients so we recommend a dental cleaning at least twice per year.  At your first visit we will take full mouth x-rays, perform perio-charting to check for gum disease and will clean your teeth if no major periodontal issues are present. Next, a complete oral exam with Dr. Jones and comprehensive treatment plan will be thoroughly presented and discussed with you.

Using Cosmetic Dentistry to create award winning smiles and replacing those old unnaturally colored metal fillings using the latest techniques is one of our specialties at Advance Dental Care.  Old metal fillings are made from mercury that expands and contracts as you eat and drink hot foods; this may cause tooth fractures that can be painful and allow harmful bacteria to infiltrate into the tooth, resulting in your needing a root canal.  Using Composite Resin Tooth Colored materials, Dr. Jones can replace your metal fillings with this natural looking resin materials that are long lasting and attractive.  For small and large cavities these resin materials are preferred for they can outlast amalgam fillings and look like your own natural teeth. Porcelain Veneers are thin layers of porcelain that are bonded to your individual teeth to create the smile of your dreams!  Using porcelain veneers, Dr. Jones can reshape, close gaps, lengthen, straighten and even whiten the appearance of your teeth. Best of all it takes two to three office visits.

Dr. Jones excels in aesthetic dentistry by taking meticulous measurements, and by looking at your entire smile, facial features and the proper alignment of your upper and lower jaw. With his training in Neuromuscular Dentistry, he can alleviate chronic TMJ symptoms using orthotics to bring the bite back into proper alignment.  Then he will design, with your input, a customized smile for your unique characteristics by having you look at a Smile Guide so you can choose with him which style of teeth look best for your particular style.

Tooth Whitening can be achieved in 60 minutes with a in-office procedure called Zoom. A gel-like substance is used to protect your gums and an oxidizing agent (the bleaching solution) is then applied to your teeth. Sometimes a special light is used at five-minute intervals to help activate the whitening agent. The At Home Whitening Method has become popular and it is simple. Dr. Jones takes an impression of your teeth and makes custom-fitted trays which you fill with whitening gel and wear up to two hours daily or at night for about two weeks. When done under the supervision of our office, the at-home whitening method is very effective and safe.

Dental Implants create a stable anchor for replacement teeth. Made from safe titanium posts, they act like root substitutes and are inserted into the jaw bone. After a few months the bone bonds with the implant and then the implant can be used to anchor a crown a bridge or denture. This creates a natural looking tooth that functions like your own; patients say this procedure has made them feel young again.

Riccardo T. Jones, D.D.S., M.A.G.D., graduated from Howard University Dental School and achieved a Mastership from The Academy of General Dentistry. He has been in private practice since 1992 and has consistently engaged in advance level dentistry training to better serve his patients using the newest techniques and technological advances. Dr. Jones attended the renowned “Dawson Academy,” mastering Functional Occlusion - From TMJ to Smile Design Training. Dr. Jones is the President of the Robert T. Freeman Dental Society Foundation, Trustee of National Dental Association and a member of American Association of Implantology. With over 400 hours in advanced level training in Dental Implant and Occlusion Surgery, he has assisted many patients who have lost teeth by using implants as the foundation for replacement teeth that function just as their own. 

Our Clinical Specialist can guide you through your payment options. We accept most insurance plans. We will complete your insurance claim and ask that you pay your estimated co-payment at the time of service. This is only an estimate so we ask that balance be paid within 30 days of the amount not paid by your insurance company.

Advance Dental Care accepts major credit cards, personal checks, money orders and cash. We also work with Care Credit that offers monthly Interest Free payments if you pay off balance within 12-18 months and for extended plans low rate of 11.9% APR. We also offer 5% discount for seniors over 65.
